Hey guys!
In the recent months I've gotten quite into the book loving universe and so far, I only have a limited amount of people to discuss my favorite books with. I wanted to create an area where we can chat about books we've read and suggest other books to fellow members because I have an arsenal of books I would love if my friends read too! I am also going to use this space myself to maybe recommend a few BookTubers or book bloggers for people who are interested because that's mainly how I got into the book world again.

A short list of rules for you guys, just so we can keep this shit on track.

Regular forum rules apply, of course.
Please don't talk shit about another member's book interests, I have a few books that I greatly enjoy that you may not agree with. But I don't care and I don't want to be harassed for it and nobody else does either. Respect each others preferences and don't make them feel bad about liking something you don't like. Everyone is entitled to different tastes, and that's okay.
Any book related things are allowed to be discussed in this forum, however, I totally have the right to shut down any conversation that I deem unproductive or off-topic.
To kind of go with the previous rule, this is NOT a forum to discuss your own novel-y things or books you've written or plan to write. Mentioning it is okay but I'd prefer to stay on topic of books we'd all get the chance to read. If you really want to discuss your book, hop on over to the Share Your Writing board and do it there.
FOR CHRIST'S SAKE... please do not openly post spoilers to any of the books you choose to discuss and if you choose to write a review or a little blurb to rant/rave about a book, make SURE you put that shit under a cut or I will cut you. Don't ruin another member's experience here because you ruined the ending to the book they were looking forward to reading. Just because you "assume" that everyone probably knows the spoiler-y bits of a book doesn't give you the right to post them anyway. There are some people that don't know the ending of the Hunger Games, or Divergent, or Twilight or whatever. Let them read and find out!~

Still hella jazzed to read the Lunar Chronicles and the rest of the Percy Jackson books. Like, I had to stop myself from putting all of the LC books on my Christmas list so I settled with just the first two. I wasn't super intrigued when I first heard about those books because I'm about done with fairy tale re-tellings, but I'm going to trust what people say because they're claiming that they really don't use a lot of the same overdone tropes in the fairy tales and really just use it as a little inspiration. People say the third book is the best one so I'm eager to start the series and get to Cress. Plus cyborg alien ladies, amiright? xD

I like the idea of that series because I don't think I've seen a YA book series like accurately tackle a fairytale retelling and not make it stupid as hell. Plus I've never encountered a cyborg type deal either. And I've heard there's fair bit of romance in the books as well, but not enough to make it a sappy book. I like the covers too. I originally thought Winter was the novella bind up for the series but after seeing how humongous that thing is...

Still really waNT TO READ ILLUMINAE THOUGH *screams this from the rooftops because my handwriting was too big to fit this on my Christmas list*

Also: JUST finally finished the Night Circus. Really good and cool but I'm definitely gonna have to read it a second time (maybe when I'm not college) because there were a couple moments where I was like "wut?" because the story and the magic were kind of all over the place. Definitely pretty dense, but we gotta remember it's considered adult fiction so it's not really all set out on a plate for the reader like some YA is. Super cool idea and considering the blurb on the back says it's a romance it's like 30% romance, so it's never annoying it's just enough to make you ^.^~. It's kind of like Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton), Moulin Rouge, Water For Elephants and Crimson Peak imagery all wrapped up in one black, white and red book. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

After meandering too long in the book store the other day, I very nearly dipped back into cat hell AKA Warriors. Instead I found out that Erin Hunter has a third group of books now called Survivors featuring dogs in an abandoned city, so I jumped on that. I'm only onto Chapter 5 but so far it's pretty good! You can definitely tell it's being set up for another 6 book series because it's going kind of slow, but it's still the Erin Hunter I remember. Just this time without the names getting ridiculous. xD The main character so far is Lucky and his friend Sweet so we don't have to deal with the wacky two part running-out-of-nature-things-to-use names. I'll make an update when I get further along! Seems like another great animal series though!
