The Den is in its early stages, so these rules are bound to change as we gain members. Check back frequently!
1. Literacy.
The Den does not enforce any sort of length or literacy requirements inside of the general role play forums. However, if you are in the Semi-Lit - Lit+ forums, the requirements are up to the role play owner. If you're a beginning writer, we all understand! But, please, remain off of the Semi-Lit - Lit+ forums until you are ready in order to keep it organized for the members using the forum.
2. Individual Role Play Rules.
When it comes to sex, violence, drug abuse and gore, it is strictly up to the role play owner to decide whether or not they want it in their role play. While some users may be okay with role playing mature content, some may not be and you must be respectful.
3. Art Theft & Plagiarism.
You may use anime picture, celebrity pictures, etc. However, directly stealing someone's artwork without the proper credit or without their permission is not okay and you will be reported if you are seen doing so. This also goes for people's own characters, forms, writing, ideas, etc.
Mature Content Rule
We know some of our users are going to be older and more mature, there are going to be some who are not going to want to step into a role play where they are going to feel uncomfortable. Here, we have a way of labeling your topics to let people know when they contain mature content. You are allowed to role play whatever topic you want if it follows the simple rules and has an icon if it contains mature content. The Den strives to place as few restrictions as possible, but be aware that some will not share your same taste in content.
[Note: You may change the symbol as your role play progresses in order to fit the content. If I see that your RP does not have an icon and clearly needs one, you will not be warned or reported (considering it is only a minor oopsie), I will just shoot you a PM suggesting that you change it.]
1. Intense Romance. [♥]
Any graphic depiction of sex. This would include anything past laying in a bed partially naked. There must be some layer of clothing on the characters to keep the role play from having the [♥] icon.
2. Intense Violence. [✖]
Any graphic depictions of torture, violence or injuries that may make people cringe. (Slowly cutting flesh, pins in eyes, graphic descriptions of cuts or burns, etc.) Role plays that might have a decent amount of self harm or suicide should add the [✖] icon.
3. Intense Swearing. [‼]
Some members may not be interested in a role play if "shit" or "bitch" is the first thing they see. If your character is a sailor mouth and swearing will be a recurring theme in the role play, it is necessary to add the [‼] icon.
4. Other. [⊙]
There are other themes and subjects that could be considered mature, such as excessive drug use or characters with severe mental disorders (such as a role play based in an asylum or mental hospital). This is more up to the owner of the role play as to whether or not their role play will have themes that might need the [⊙] icon. You must also write down exactly what is going to be expected in the rules, or at least somewhere on the page.
5. Multiple Mature Themes. [♢]
If an RP is going to have heavy duty swearing and romance, or violence and swearing, or any kind of combination then you are going to have to add the [♢] icon as well as a description of which suggestive themes are going to be present.

If you are to break any of these rules, you will be warned by a staff member. If the behavior goes on, you are risking account banning.
